The article is about a plan called Ahikaroa where they were going to bring back the native bush because it was cleared years ago. The native bush is tī kōuka, mānuka, rewarewa, tītoki, kahikatea, nīkau, and kawakawa. They all helped heal people before it was cleared.




  1. What do you think the author’s purpose for writing this article was?


A book about a whanau bringing back native trees after being cut down. It is also to explain the use of them like manuka.

  1. So it‘s about this whanau  who wants to grow trees again that were cut down years ago. 

  1. I think it is important that they bring back these trees because they were also helpful for making medicine and one of them made food.
