→Maui and his Brothers had gotten quite frustrated at the sun because Tamanuitera wouldn’t slow down he was to fast then one of the brothers said “ He’s to fast we can’t even fish long enough and harvest and do our chores” then Maui thought of something he said “ Gather all the village people i have an idea” so that's what they did. Maui explained to everyone how they were going to stop the sun and slow him down. All he asked of them was if they could gather some harakeke flex then everyone scattered and harvested harakeke to make rope. Happily, Maui made a huge gigantic net for the sun. After that he thanked the village and then Maui and his brothers set off on their journey. After a few days they came upon a hole and in that hole was Tamanuitera himself sleeping. Maui and his brothers hid behind trees and in caves so the sun couldn’t see them. At the dawn of day he rised from the hole and at that moment the brothers threw the net at tamanuitera and he was stuck Maui then struck him with his magical jawbone. Tamanuitera then asked “ Why are you doing this to me ” Maui said “ We are doing this so you can slow down” Tamanuitera and Maui started arguing then Tamanuitera said “ fine i give up i will slow down only if you let me go '' then Maui said “ deal “. After that the sun slowed down and the village was so happy when the brothers and Maui came back unharmed and they were happy that they could finally harvest and go fish and that's the story of Maui and the sun in my own words.
